How to Throw an ACOTAR Halloween Party (With Donuts)

If your Halloween plans involve more faeries than zombies, you're in good company. This year our whole Halloween range is inspired by A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR), so we've put together a few ideas for bringing a little Prythian magic to your party or book club night.

Pick Your Court

Choose a theme and lean into it. The Night Court is the obvious favourite: think deep navy and black, gold stars, candles and plenty of glitter. Ask guests to come dressed as their favourite character or their court of choice, and you've got instant conversation starters.

Set the Table Under the Stars

Dark tablecloths, fairy lights and a scattering of gold confetti stars go a long way. Add a few books from the series to the table as decorations, and save a spot in the middle for the treats.

Serve Treats Fit for a High Lord

Our Halloween donuts were made for exactly this kind of night. Each flavour is a nod to the series:

  • The Night Court: midnight-black glitter glaze with golden stars.
  • The City of Starlight: rich chocolate glaze with sea salt and citrus under midnight stars.
  • The Bat Boys: mixed berry glaze, purple sprinkles and edible bat wings.
  • Shadow King: starlit skies and midnight shadows.
  • Suriel Sees All: salted caramel, dark chocolate and Biscoff, with watchful eyes on top.
  • The Cursed Moon: a glazed donut with a haunting edible moon print.

For a big group, go with the Halloween ACOTAR Regular Donuts (10 donuts) or the Mini Donuts (21 bite-sized donuts). For a smaller book club, the Scary Six gives everyone one of each. Add Halloween ACOTAR Cupcakes for an extra touch of drama on the dessert table.

Play a Few Games

A trivia round on the series always goes down well, and so does a "which court are you?" vote. Give the winner first pick of the donut box. Trust us, it's a prize worth fighting for.
